 Description
Robert Anson Heinlein, who lived from 1907 until 1988, was one of the most popular, influential, and controversial authors of "hard" science fiction. He set a high standard for science and engineering plausibility and helped to raise the genre's standards of literary quality. He was also the first genre science fiction writer to break into mainstream general magazines such as "The Saturday Evening Post" in the late 1940s with unvarnished science fiction. For many years, Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, and Arthur C. Clarke were known as the "Big Three" of science fiction.

We are pleased to present two of Heinlein's famous short works in audioplay format, "Universe" and "The Roads Must Roll." Both originally aired in the 1950s as part of NBC's classic science fiction anthology series, "X Minus One," and represent a high point in science fiction audio drama.
