Ran Lomar wanted to be left alone. That's why he volunteered for duty on Pia 2, the most remote planet in the galaxy.

His assignment was simple. Redwing, a plant used as a medical fixative, grew only on Pia 2, and less and less was being harvested. Lomar's job was to find out whyùand fix the problem at once.
